Make Des Moines affordable for working people

People shouldn’t have to leave the city they love because housing, utilities, fees, and everyday costs keep climbing.

I’ll push for more housing working families can actually afford, tie public incentives to real affordability, and take a hard look at city-controlled costs before asking residents to pay more.

PROTECT THE THINGS THAT MAKE A NEIGHBORHOOD HOME

Libraries, parks, pools, DART, and neighborhood programs aren’t extras.

They’re part of what makes a city livable.

When budgets get tight, I’ll look first at giveaways to corporations and other spending priorities before cutting the services residents use every day.

HOLD BAD LANDLORDS ACCOUNTABLE

Renters deserve safe homes and a city that takes their concerns seriously.

I'll protect neighborhood inspections, push for faster responses to unsafe housing, and make sure repeat offenders face real consequences instead of endless warnings and paperwork.

ONE STANDARD FOR EVERY NEIGHBORHOOD

Your street, sidewalk, park, or library shouldn't be better or worse depending on your ZIP code or the size of your bank account.

I'll push for transparent infrastructure priorities and make sure neighborhoods that have been overlooked for years finally get their fair share of city investment.

END PREDATORY TOWING

Getting your car towed shouldn't turn into a financial crisis, and city contractors shouldn't get special treatment based on the political donations they make.

I'll support stronger consumer protections, oppose contracts that would harm residents, and refuse campaign money from corporations, developers, and city contractors.

MAKE CITY HALL ANSWER TO YOU

Public decisions should happen in public, and residents should never have to wonder whose interests are driving a vote.

I'll fight for stronger ethics rules, clear conflict-of-interest standards, real transparency, and a City Council that remembers who it works for.
